There are various forms of psychotherapies and ‘talking therapies’, many of which require sessions over many months, even years, before the client notices any improvement.
Rather than ruminating on what has ‘gone wrong’ in the past, Brief Therapy (or Solution Focused Therapy) helps you to:

discover your own inner resources
find effective solutions to instigate beneficial change
Using this in conjunction with hypnotherapy is a powerful and safe way to instigate lasting, beneficial change, which should become apparent within as little as one session.
Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness or ‘trance state’ which makes the brain more receptive to new ideas. It is also an excellent method of accessing our inner potential. Every single one of us has a wealth of innate skills and resources waiting to be reawakened, utilised and enjoyed.

WHAT TO EXPECT
My clients are central to my approach and I like to allow some time for talking. This is a helpful process for both of us: together we’ll identify the changes you want to experience and find effective ways to make this possible.
It also helps me to develop a clear understanding of you as an individual and to ascertain the nature of the problem. With a fully informed understanding of your needs, I can then deliver a tailor made hypnotic treatment specifically for you. The hypnotic session simply enables your mind to absorb new learning at a deeper, more profound level.
(What will it feel like?)
You’ll find that during hypnosis you’ll enjoy deep relaxation whilst remaining fully awake.
As your body and mind relax, the subconscious becomes more receptive to new ideas and suggestions. Hypnosis is simply and altered state of consciousness, and the optimum state for learning.
Some people say they don’t feel as if they went into trance but still notice huge improvements after a session. Other people go very deeply into trance and have small patches of ‘amnesia’; they too notice huge differences after a session. There are many different variables of how deeply someone experiences trance but ultimately it really doesn’t matter - research shows hypnotherapy to be a highly effective method to enable quick, effective change, regardless of how deeply the client feels they went into trance.
People report a range of wonderful feelings immediately after hypnosis.
Some people feel highly empowered and energised. Others report feeling supremely relaxed and ‘floaty’, and often last quite perceptibly for hours and even days afterwards. If possible, avoid arranging anything too hectic after your session, then you can really enjoy the after glow! The real changes, of course, will be profound and long lasting or permanent.
(Will I lose control?)
Absolutely not! Some people are concerned that they will “lose control” in hypnosis but I can assure you that you’ll remain fully in control at all times. There are still some common misconceptions about clinical hypnotherapy, which probably stem from stage hypnotists. These performances are for entertainment value only, and participation is an entirely voluntary process. It makes use of extroverted individuals who actually want to do the things they are asked! The fact is, it simply isn’t possible to make a person do or say anything against their usual ethical or moral judgement or religious belief.
(Can anyone be hypnotised?)
Yes, virtually all of us can be hypnotised and enjoy the benefits of hypnotherapy.
(And is it safe?)
Hypnotherapy is a completely safe and natural part of human experience.
We all drift into trance states every day without even being aware of it. You may have had the experience of driving along a familiar route and arriving at your destination without remembering much of your journey, as though you‘ve gone on ‘automatic pilot‘. All those times you become engrossed in a film, conversation, or any other focused activity in which you lose a sense of time and self are examples of drifting into a trance.

Many phobias and some addictions can be treated in one session. Other issues can take as little as one session to a maximum of six, depending on each individual case.
